For Your Prayers

Caldwell Family:

It’s good to be back in the office and catch up. The conference I attended last week on multicultural churches was fascinating and full of ideas. I look forward to telling you more Sunday and in weeks to come. Thanks to Leslie, Danny, Elizabeth and others for looking out for things here.

For now, please keep several folks in your prayers:

Donna Price is set for her fourth surgery in four months tomorrow morning. This will alleviate the cause of fluid buildup in her lungs. Donna is feeling fine physically, spiritually and mentally and we pray that this will be the final step needed to rid her of this somewhat rare condition. She and her partner, Julie, have been part of the Caldwell family only a few months and they look forward to being able to participate 100% after Donna’s surgery.

Doctors are working to diagnose the source of headaches for the mother of Patrick Allen-Slattery. We pray for their success and for God’s Spirit to dwell with Patrick’s mom and the entire family.

Martha Cooper has been unable to attend Caldwell in recent years, but her family has been part of Caldwell since its founding in 1912. Martha is in her final days. She and I had a marvelous visit recently, when she told me many wonderful stories about our church’s history. We pray for peace for her and her family in these days.

Please keep my wife, Kelly, in your prayers as well. She has been diagnosed with severe nerve pain in her lower back and will be essentially on bed rest for a few weeks in hopes of some relief.

There are many others I might mention – those experiencing stages of grief, loss and discouragement. As a church with so many ‘joys’, let us keep our entire church family in our prayers to the God who hears all prayers and never seases loving us.

Peace,

John
