Hello Caldwell:
It’s been another ‘good busy’ week here at the church. Whether you were busy or got a break this week, I hope your week has been good. Today, Troy Aleong and Tom Bohr, along with volunteer and new friend Randy Baugh, gathered and moved lots of furniture up to the space that will be our Overflow Women’s Shelter. We’re poised for another productive volunteer day tomorrow, including a warm welcome for about 40 volunteers from across the city who are helping making the shelter a reality.
Sunday is equally busy, but less tiring (I hope).
- In the adult Sunday School class, we will begin our study of the last book in the Bible, the Revelation to John. That class has been working up to this for three years, which might be another way of saying that we’ve studied every other book in the Bible before we dived into this one. But, in fact, the Revelation to John is a fascinating work that can still speak to us today.
- In worship, we joyously welcome Veronica Rogers on her first day as a staff member at Caldwell. We will begin a multi-week consideration of what it means to be a disciple. We’ll also welcome new members and bring our 5 cents a meal offering.
- The September newsletter will be hot of the presses.
- After worship, please plan to attend the covered dish luncheon (bring something if you can but come regardless). We have lots to celebrate – the official launch of fall, Veronica’s arrival, Danny Trapp’s birthday and more. Hope to see you there.
May God grant you peace and rest.
John
