Dear Caldwell,
Over the weekend, I spoke with one of our most supporitve guests at the Shelter at Caldwell. She explained that her daughter was not in a position to afford much of a Christmas for her children, our shelter guest’s grandchildren. The children are a 6-year old girl and a 1-year old boy. If you can help make a Christmas, the family would be grateful for even a gift or two for each child. Let me or Leslie know. The gifts could be dropped off at the church anytime this week.
Thanks to all who were able to join us for the big breakfast yesterday. Thanks even more to those who prepared it, shopping beforehand and rising early Sunday to cook. At the breakfast, we honored our outgoing Intern in Ministry Danny Trapp, who will continue his studies for another 18 months or so as he discerns God’s call on his life. Many may remember Danny’s creative, funkified sermon based on three hits by the 70s soul and funk group, the Tower of Power. In his honor (photo), we presented him with his own album, thanking him for all his smash hits in ministry at Caldwell.
The same Fellowship space was transformed early this morning for a Christmas party for the children of the Caldwell Bilingual Preschool.
As always, the preschoolers were impeccably dressed and sat politely as Santa called their names one by one and handed out gifts, donated by Trinity Episcopal School families. Their parents were as present and supportive, and, as always, expressed gratitude to you, Caldwell church, for supporting the school. I’ve attached a few photos.
Hope to see you and yours Christmas Eve at 5:30, with light refreshments to follow.
Stay tuned for more
John
