Dear Caldwell,
Greetings on this terrific Tuesday in Charlotte. I pray that you are experiencing the comforting and loving presence of God in a meaningful and life-giving way today.
Thank you, Caldwell, for the ways in which you have shared your love, your food, and your generous spirits over the past week. On three separate occasions, you filled a car with necessary supplies that were taken to McCreesh Place. Bellies are full, baby bottoms are covered, and smiles are on display in many households because of your lovingkindness. Thank you for not letting the pandemic keep you from loving folks in our hometown.
As we move from April into May, Caldwell moves ever deeper into our online life. Preacher’s Porch on Tuesday evenings at 7, Caldwell Live on Wednesday evenings at 5:30, Vespers on Thursday evenings at 8 pm, and our daily “stop what you’re doing and pray” moments every night at 9 pm are four ways for us to continue to connect with each other, engage with the Scriptures, and deepen our relationship with God. Please join us as often as you are able.
Another way for us to connect, to learn, and to grow in our relationships with one another and our community is through an outstanding program being offered by the Touchpoint Committee. Every Sunday afternoon during the month of May, at 2 pm, there will be a Zoom gathering that includes watching videos together and engaging in conversation with invited guests who will help us to understand and live more fully into our commitment to welcome all of God’s beloved children, not only at Caldwell, but also in every area of our lives.
Here is a link to more information about the series. The Zoom connection information for the entire month-long series is in the email that brought you to this page. Please don’t delete that email.
Not only that, this coming Sunday, we will have a guest preacher, Reverend Lucy Strong. Rev. Strong is a pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA) currently serving as the Associate Director of Student Engagement and Transitions at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. We look forward to the message Lucy will bring as we kick off this month-long series.
We may not be able to be together in person, but there is a lot to look forward to and take part in – nonetheless.
Grace and peace, Gail
