Dear Caldwell:
Today, we experience the breadth and depth of life in the church. This morning, we are thinking of and praying for Carol Williams and her daughter, Jeanine, as we prepare to celebrate the life of little Madison at her memorial service and lay her body to rest, confident that she is now with God. The service is at Hickory Grove Baptist Church at 11 a.m.
Tonight, we have our initial Bible study meeting with our guests in the Salvation Army shelter at Caldwell. All are welcome. We will start at 7:15 p.m. in the Upper Room where our Sunday School meets. No preparation is needed for tonight. We will get to know each other a bit and decide together how we want the Bible study to proceed.
Finally, as our Season of Discipleship continues, we celebrate the commitments of more than 65 members and friends who pledged last Sunday to strengthen our many ministries with their time and talent. This is an excellent start. While others bring or mail in their time and talent pledhes, we all turn our thoughts to our call to support the church financially. In the next few days, members and friends will receive a letter with more information about this aspect of our discipleship.
Whereever you will find God today, may you know the sometimes-mysterious but unwavering love of our creator and the promise we have in Christ.
“”I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)
In Christ,
John
