A Joyfully Busy Weekend

Dear Caldwell,

What a gorgeous day it has turned out to be. As we head into the weekend, I hope you have some down time amid all of the busy-ness of this time of year. Caldwell will be at work in the kingdom here and now in several ways – building a Habitat House, preparing meals and spending the night with our neighbors in Room in the Inn, reconfiguring our preschool Sunday School rooms for some new programs and decorating the sanctuary for Advent and Christmas. Thanks to you all.

If you are a “friend” of Caldwell and have been thinking about joining the congregation, this Sunday will be our last first-Sunday meeting of the session this year to receive new members.  We would love to finish the year with a strong group of new members. It takes only a few minutes immediately after worship.

Also Sunday:

– a special Sunday school class on centering prayer will meet again, this time in the parlor in the PRICE Building at 9:45 a.m. Our regular Adult Sunday school will continue its study of Christmas music and its relation to the story in scripture.

– In worship, we will continue our consideration of how the words in the Lord’s Prayer “thy kingdom come” can be an Advent prayer as we joyfully anticipate the coming of one who was a king like no other.  We’ll also celebrate communion.

In the meantime, don’t forget the Men of Caldwell meet Monday night and the Women of Caldwell meet Tuesday night, both at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Peace ande Grace to you and yours,

John
