Dear Caldwell,
A few things at the start of the week:
A member of the Caldwell family passed away on Saturday. Betty Jo Dorsett, mother of our member Ann Dorsett, loved to come to worship with Ann whenever she could. She felt at home here and always left worship with a smile on her face. Her memorial service will be held at Myers Park Presbyterian Church this Wednesday at 2 p.m., after which the family will receive friends at the church. Beth Van Gorp is coordinating support for the Ann and the family, if you would like to help. More details are in her obituary, which is here: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/charlotte/obituary.aspx?n=betty-josephine-worthington-dorsett&pid=153668230&fhid=5889
An item for your prayerful consideration: This coming Sunday, we will hold a brief congregational meeting for the purposes of electing the church’s Nominating Committee. It is the responsibility of this group to nominate a new class of officers to serve on the session, beginning in January 2012. The nominees to the session will be voted on in November.
Finally, we rejoiced in hearing 30 happy voices today as the children of the Bilingual Preschool returned for another school year. At recess, they ran immediately to the brand new sandbox, dedicated yesterday and built by Eagle Scout candidate Kiley Doyle, a member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.
The Peace and Grace of our Lord to each of you as you go about your various endeavors.
Yours in Christ,
John
