Belonging: Inwardly and Outwardly

Dear Caldwell,

Last week, I picked up on the word “belong” from the Romans passage that Amy preached on Sunday (wasn’t she a refreshing new voice?).

Caldwell’s heart for ministry and mission so often goes “outward” into the world. That is where we know we belong as Christ’s hands and feet. But we also know that we must stoke our bonds and relationships inwardly, among ourselves, through activities and fellowship gatherings that deepen how we belong to each other, and thus belong to God as one.

Starting this weekend, we have even more chances to deepen our relationships. Six members, or groups of members, have graciously opened their homes for dinner gatherings this coming weekend through July 29. This is the second round of congregational dinners this year, and the first round was a big hit.

The upcoming dinner dates are July 8, 11, 19, 23, and two on the 29th. I bet you are free to enjoy time with your Caldwell community one of those nights.

You can sign up by clicking here – and I hope you will.

Watch for Caldwell This Week with full details on all church activities – and don’t forget about the covered dish after worship this Sunday.

In Christ,

John
