Family and Farewell

Dear Caldwell,

Tomorrow, as a family, we will gather to give thanks for the ministry of Rev. Veronica Rogers among us. After worship, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall to hear Veronica celebrated in song, poetry and other expressions of appreciation. A bite to eat will be provided. Also, keep your eyes out for several “stations,” where you can write Veronica a personal note of thanks. You may also write one at home to be included in her memory book or email one to the church at admin@caldwellpresby.org.

We will “keep it in the family” in worship as well, gathering together to share Communion and hearing Ephesians 1:3-14 as a letter from an unknown but loving relative, who writes us about God’s plan in Christ “for the fullness of time.” It is Epiphany Sunday, when we recall how the Magi encountered God’s startling revelation and incarnation. We will unwrap the “gift” what it means to be adopted, redeemed and sealed in and to Christ.

Adult Sunday school will resume at 9:45. Breakfast with Caldwell House prep starts at 7 but you can come anytime before 8:30 and still be helpful.

As a church family, we mark the circle of life this week. We give praise for the birth of Grace Margaret Jordan to Maggie and Bo Jordan and we give thanks for the life of Carol King’s stepfather, John Moyle. His services will he held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013  at 11:00 am at Harry and Bryant Funeral Home,  500  Providence Road, Charlotte.  The Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 am-10:45 am.  Burial will be private.

So, as always, life is full here at Caldwell. I’ll plan on seeing you tomorrow as we praise our Creator and give thanks for her servant, Veronica.

In Christ,

John
