Dear Caldwell,
Perhaps scripture’s greatest conversion story is how Saul the zealot and enemy of Christ became Paul, one of the church’s greatest voices. It is a story about what it takes to see, to truly see, with Jesus’ help. We will take a look at it tomorrow in worship, seeking to see ourselves. But, as usual, that’s not all that will be happening at Caldwell tomorrow:
1. At 6 pm, we will host a town hall conversation for all who have wanted to be a part of the “Caldwell in 3D” process of looking at the church’s future. This discussion will focus on growth and diversity and meaningful worship. A second town hall will be held July 28.
2. Immediately after worship, young adults and newcomers are invited to an informal lunch and conversation with Rev. Evie Landrau and elder Johnny Johnson, a chance to meet Evie, help shape our young adult ministries and meet other newcomers.
3. Adult Christian Education continues it look at the book of Ephesians, 9:45 am in Shelby.
4. Caldwell House breakfast and devotion at 8:30, prep helpers needed at 7 am.
5. A great new edition of the CGN! Newsletter is right of the press and ready for reading. Pick one up tomorrow. We will get it posted online next week.
Other items:
– Member Beth Johnson needs help moving a small apartment-full of items and furniture this Tuesday. The move covers a fairly short distance and it should not take long. We need two strong backs and willingness to handle a small rental truck. Beth is one of our great stories of growth and success as she has advanced from Caldwell House to independent living. She has contributed much to Caldwell.Call me at 704 957 4511 if you can help.
– Also, we got a last minute call that someone would like to donate a brand new large folding table and chairs to the church … But the items need to be picked up uptown today at 4pm. Let me know if you can help. (Call 704 957 4511) Should not take more than an hour. Thank you!
See you tomorrow, I hope.
in Christ,
John
