Dear Caldwell,
What a gorgeous day in which to enjoy God’s creation. I’m headed out to the yard for some work right after I write this.
What is the kingdom of heaven for you? Where is it? When is it? I’ve found those questions some of the most challenging and rewarding entries into faith reflection in the last several years. Tomorrow, we will have the chance to reflect on those questions in worship, using passages from Matthew’s 6th chapter. This corresponds to the Adult Sunday School’s study of the Lord’s Prayer, in which Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom Come.”
We are keeping in prayer several members – David and Nancy Nance and their daughter, Michelle, as Michelle recovers from surgery; Yvette Wilson, as she attends to a sister who is also recovering from an illness; Linda Horton is requesting intercession for Billy Brancato, a young father and park policemen in Washington, DC who is critically ill with pancreatitis and is on a feeding tube; and, Mike Watson, Jr., son of Mike and Lynn Watson. Let is also pray for safe passage and growth in the Spirit for intern Liz Wagner, who is traveling to Hungary to spread the Good News.
Speaking of the good news, the February edition of the Caldwell Good News will be out tomorrow to catch you up on church happenings. Also, breakfast with the ladies of Caldwell House – prep starts at 7 and the eating at 8:30. Come and be fed.
See you soon.
Yours in Christ,
John
