Let’s Share Home

Dear Caldwell Family,

In January, our congregation met and talked in depth about the feasibility of a campaign to raise $600,000 in capital funds to do our part in transforming the Price Building into affordable housing for our neighbors in need. After your enthusiastic engagement and supportive response, it’s time to take the next step.

On May 5, we will kick off the actual pledge campaign – asking every Caldwell member and friend to consider prayerfully what they can contribute over the next three years. As you may recall from the informational meetings earlier this year, $500,000 of what we hope to raise will help cover the estimated $3.5 million cost of the Price renovation into approximately 20 studio apartments. The remaining $100,000 will create a fund for future capital repairs for Price and our other buildings, which are so heavily used by the community and the congregation.

Our committee and the session prayed and thought deeply about our goal amount. We know the financial realities faced by all members of the Caldwell community. We also know the love you have for our Lord, our church, and for extending our campus to help solve our city’s deepest needs—all in response to God’s grace and provision in Christ Jesus.

We’re excited about the overwhelmingly positive response from the congregation as we prepare to launch the pledge campaign with humility, confidence and great joy that we can reach our goal.

So, please mark your calendar for a kick-off luncheon after worship Sunday, May 5. Lunch will be free.  We will hand out pledge packets and share the exciting news about friends and leaders who have already made a commitment to the project. We will provide an update on the project and answer any questions.

Then, we’ll ask you to take the pledge packet home for prayerful consideration.  We hope to gather everyone’s pledges by mid-June, and you’ll have three years to fulfill them.

Between now and May 5, please renew your prayerful consideration of what you can do to house our home-starved neighbors and share what God has given us with them, in both our money and our buildings.

With thanks to God and to each of you,
