“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Dear Caldwell,
On this Easter Monday, we are Easter people in many ways:
1. We give thanks for successful surgery for Tom Bohr this morning and pray continually for his recovery. Once they had the “hood up” on Tom this morning, his surgeon decided to go ahead and do quadruple by-pass. All went well and Tom is in the Heart ICU recovering. The next step will be for his medical team to remove his breathing tube later today. However, Kitty says the doctors reported immediate improvement in the heart function. He will remain in the hospital until at least the weekend. This surgery is significant in and of itself so, while successful, please continue to pray for his healing in the coming days. I will keep you updated.
2. Thanks to so many who contributed to a memorable Easter Sunday. Each “member of the body” brought something to yesterday’s fellowship, worship and joy and together, in one Spirit, we raised thanks and praise as Easter people. Thanks to all.
3. The body grows: What a cherished memory we shared in the baptism of Margaret Mae Kiviranna (pictured above with mom Amy and big brother Aleks; father Travis). Also,we recently received two other new members – Billy Broyles (pictured to the right, at last week’s session meeting) and Chris Skibinksi (after church yesterday, picture coming). Chris is getting married here next month! We give thanks for what Margaret, Billy and Chris bring to this part of the body of Christ.
4. We wish Godspeed to Carol King and her mother, Frances, as they take time away from Charlotte as work is done to their home. We wish them deep rest and peace at the beach and look forward to the day their beautiful spirits are back among us here.
As we pray and live into the promise of new life in the resurrection, may the light of Eastertide surround you now and throughout this glorious season.
In Christ,
John
