Dear Caldwell,
Thanks be to God that almost half of our active membership participated in helping frame our search for a new leader of our music ministry. Now it’s time to take the next step.
Two choir conversations and two congregational town halls provided clear – and fairly broad – ideas about what we want to retain in our music ministry at Caldwell and what new areas we want to explore. The next step is to name a search committee to identify finalists for the role. Between now and the end of next Tuesday, the Session invites nominations for the search committee, which will have 6 or 7 members. Names can be given to Worship Committee Chair Richard Campbell or myself. Please obtain permission of any nominee before offering their name. The session seeks a representative group of members from the choir and the congregation, including some with music knowledge and expertise. The session will approve the final committee make-up and the number of nominations may exceed the number of seats on the committee.
Volunteers for this committee should know that it will be a hard-working committee, potentiall meeting up to several times a month at the height of its work. No timeline is being put on this search – we are most interested in finding the person who is the best fit, the person we believe our Lord has called to serve alongside us here.
