Dear Caldwell Family:
This week I received a lovely card from a friend who has been a member of Caldwell for decades. She expressed how special Caldwell is to her, saying “It’s the old traditions that have blended with new ideas that fill the sanctuary every Sunday.”
Throughout this month, we’ve been praying, thinking and turning to God’s timeless word for guidance on how to strike the balance she so eloquently describes. Tomorrow, we will wrap up this series on how “to be a new church,” drawing insight from Luke 8:26-39, the story of Jesus and a man literally filled with demons.
I hope you saw a note earlier this week about a new initiative to deepen relationships across the congregation called the Four By Four Dialogues. We will hear more about this tomorrow, too.
I want to thank everyone who pitched in to make our Southern Fiesta possible. We had a wonderful turnout and a great time establishing what we hope are meaningful relationships. So many pitched in and we owe them our thanks.
Please keep Kevin, Tovi and Ellen Martin in your prayers as he contends with an infection, Dave Bradley as he travels to be with his father in his final days and Donna and Julie Price as Donna continues her recuperation and Julie supports her.
Peace and Grace to you in these sweltering days,
John
