Dear Caldwell,
Just wanted to remind you of two ways we can practice our faith tonight and tomorrow night.
Tonight at 7 at Queens University (Ketner Auditorium in the Sykes Building) Queens’ Center for Ethics and Religion hosts an interfaith conversation about poverty as seen though from the perspectives of Judaism, Islam and Christianity. I have the privilege of being on a panel that will respond to a provacative new film we will view together called “The Line.” Thanks to Queens Chaplain Rev. Dr. Diane Mowrey for thinking of Caldwell.
Tomorrow at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall, a new class in restorative yoga begins. No particular physical fitness needed. This class, offered by Caldwell friends Donna and Ivan Marcotte, will introduce us to deep stretching, breathing and other exercizes that can restore body and soul. Bring a mat and a blanket. If you don’t have a mat, one will be provided for you.
Thanks to all who contributed to such a rich worship experience yesterday. A quick preview of this Sunday:
– Worship will be a special “hymn sing” service when we sing many of your favorites.
– A brief congregational meeting will be held to elect new elders.
– All young adults are invited to a luncheon after worship at VGBG in the NC Music Factory, kids welcomed.
I’ll be back in touch soon.
In Christ,
John
