Dear Caldwell,
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to pull it all together – your diligence and commitment made it possible for Caldwell to shine the light of God’s love in the heart of this city we call home.
This coming Sunday, please plan to join us as Greg Jarrell and some of his friends shine the light of God’s love at Caldwell by leading us in a service of Jazz Worship.
Greg and Helms and their two children are living out a story of God’s love, radical hospitality, and open-hearted welcome at QC Family Tree in Enderly Park that is transforming them and their community in life-affirming, messy, hopeful, difficult, God-honoring ways. We are excited to be able to hear a musical tribute to the stories Greg wrote and shared of what God is doing there in Enderly Park in his book A Riff of Love.
Click here for a taste of the music, worship, and power they will bring on Sunday.
We will be challenged to push on, even when life pushes back. We will be invited to lean on God for the strength we need to carry on – when everyone and everything we have leaned on in the past has proven incapable of carrying us. We will be inspired to continue the work God is doing in, among, and through us here at Caldwell – with newfound joy and perhaps a new song in our hearts. I don’t know about you, but I could sure use an extra dose of hope and another infusion of the joy of the Lord – especially in the midst of all that we are in the midst of these days.
In worship on Sunday, we will hear more of Greg’s story.
We will hear more of Greg’s music.
We will hear more of the heart of God expressed through music, lament, prayer, Scripture, and quietness as well.
Plan to be with us. Invite your friends and neighbors.
This will be an opportunity to hear the Word read and proclaimed in an exhilarating, energizing, powerful way.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Grace and peace, Gail
PS. Some of you may be seeing the photographs sideways on your mobile devices. Sorry about that.
I still have a lot to learn about technology and the interwebs.
