Our keynote speaker for this year’s all-church retreat will be Kathy Izard, award-winning author of The Hundred Story Home, about her life-changing experience in helping launch Moore Place, the first Housing First initiative in Charlotte. She has also written four other books, including two for children. Kathy has been a guest on The Today Show and NPR, and was the 2022 Charlotte Woman of the Year. 8:30-9:30 a.m. Keynote speaker Kathy Izard, followed by book signing
9:45-Noon WildCards, patterned after the NPR program of the same name, in which we will have breakout conversations intended to help us get to know
ourselves and others in our Caldwell family better. Breakout sessions
specifically tailored for youth and school-age children.
12:30-1:30 p.m. Chili Cook-Off
1:30-5 p.m. Open activities for all ages (preliminary list)
• Crafts for all ages
• Games & puzzles
• Soccer clinic for school-age children
• Meditation sessions
• Photo sessions for the new church directory
• Possible outings to Independence Park, a nearby labyrinth, an
early-voting caravan
5:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner with hot chocolate bar & funnel cake for dessert 6:45-7 p.m. Line dancing
7-9 p.m. Singalong & storytelling
