God is doing great things here at Caldwell. This past Sunday, we heard the Word read, proclaimed, sung, and played by Greg Jarrell, Dawn Anthony, and three other wonderfully gifted musicians. We sang. We prayed. We laughed. And more than a few tears were shed. It was a wonderful time of worship – different than our usual format, but God-honoring, soul-stirring, and spirit-lifting nonetheless.
This coming Sunday, Reverend Diane Mowrey, who has generously shared of her time, talent, and energy during John’s sabbatical, will preach from Luke 14. Please plan to be with us.
This week, there are two pieces of wonderful news about our growing Caldwell family.
Neecho Mosby-Griffin (on the left in the photo) and Quentin McGill (on the right) joined Caldwell earlier this month. Neecho has attended Caldwell for over a year and recently celebrated his one year wedding anniversary with Reid Griffin. God brought Quentin to us a few months ago, and he has been a regular, always joyful, attendee at worship ever since.
It is always a joy to welcome those whom God has called to be part of this community of faith. We look forward to growing in faith along with them. Welcome, Neecho. Welcome, Quentin.
Elizabeth Ireland and Jimmy Squibb welcomed their daughter, Jean Eleanor Juliet Squibb into the world on Monday, August 26th. She will go by “Eleanor.” She is precious, truly a gem. Anne and I had the high honor of meeting her today and praying with the family. There was great joy in that room. Thanks be to God. Welcome, Eleanor.
To God be all the glory and praise for the marvelous acts and gracious generosity we have received from the hand of our Loving Lord and Savior.
PS. Last week, it was brought to my attention that the parade photographs appeared sideways on some mobile devices. I hope that doesn’t happen again, but if that is the case, please take a look at the blog posts on a desktop computer or laptop.
