Dear Caldwell,
Are you hungry?
We all are, aren’t we?
Hungry for connection.
Hungry for community.
Hungry for hope.
Hungry for joy.
I’ve got great news for you, my friend.
It’s SNAC time. Let me rephrase that – it’s time for SNAC.
Summer Nights at Caldwell will take place tomorrow evening, August 14th, for the third and final time this summer. Please plan to join us in Belk Hall tomorrow at 6 pm for food, fun, connection, community, hope, and joy.
We will continue our conversation on compassionate community. We will seek answers to these questions – among others –> What does it mean to be a compassionate community? What difference does it make to be a compassionate community at this time in this city and in our nation? What might it look like to be compassionate people of God for such a time as this?
For our hungry bellies: there will be salad, tomato pie, and cupcakes.
For our hungry hearts: there will be opportunities to connect with one another and hear one another’s thoughts, stories, and questions about being the compassionate community that we all so desperately want and need.
Come one. Come all. Join others in your Caldwell family tomorrow evening –
Wednesday, August 14th, from 6 pm until 7:30 pm in Belk Hall.
Bring toppings for salad and/or cupcakes.
The greens and cupcakes will be provided.
Just bring yummy things to put on top.
As we gather together – whether it be for SNAC, for Sunday School, for choir practice, for watercolor painting, for Session meetings or for Sunday worship – may each of us and all of us be open to receive grace, mercy, hope, love and joy from God’s gracious and generous hands.
See you tomorrow – Gail
